SPANISH FRUITS & VEGETABLES I HAVE, WHO HAS? BUNDLE

PRIMARY SPANISH FRUITS VEGETABLES KS2 SPANISH FRUITS VEGETABLES KS3 SPANISH FRUITS VEGETABLES I HAVE, WHO HAS? 3 GAMES @ £2.50 EACH This resource consists of non-editable files in a zipped format. It is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, shared or distributed outside your own classroom in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. = Game 1: focus on fruits = Game 2: focus on vegetables = Game 3: focus on blend of fruits and vegetables Whole-group lively & communicative language learning games, perfect for practising, reinforcing & refreshing a range of fruits in Spanish. The games have a multi-skill focus: listening, speaking & reading, with an important bonus focus on social interaction and participation. It’s perfect for pronunciation practice too - I point out particular phonemes, accents and sounds too - such as the tilde on the letter ñ, and how important that is in creating the correct sound of the word. The aim of the game is to create a Spanish sentence chain as quickly as possible, starting with Tengo la primera tarjeta, and ending with the final card, Tengo la última tarjeta. There are 29 fruits featured across the games: green apple; red apple; banana; cherry; date; fig; gooseberries; grapefruit; green grapes; red grapes; honeydew melon; kiwi; lemon; lime; mango; nectarine; olive; orange; papaya; peach; pear; pineapple; pumpkin; raspberry; redcurrants; rhubarb; starfruit; strawberry; watermelon. with 29 vegetables: artichoke; asparagus; aubergine; green beans; beetroot; broccoli; Brussels sprout; cabbage; carrot; cauliflower; celery; cucumber; garlic; leek; lettuce; mushroom; onion; peas; green pepper; red pepper; yellow pepper; potato; sweet potato; radish; spinach; sweetcorn; tomato; zucchini. All the fruits and vegetables may not be in my longer-term learning plan, but the learning objective moves beyond simply learning individual units of vocabulary - the images help students infer meaning from context, supported by the visual prompts and clues - this in turn supports them in developing their Spanish language skills in the longer and more complex sentences. There is implicit input on grammatical concepts such as adjectival agreement, gender, definite, indefinite and partitive articles and position of adjectives, either preceding or proceeding the particular noun. This is a very successful way of really getting the most of what looks like a straightforward game for consolidating the target vocabulary - it is actually so much more! The question card template provides an additional learning activity, with students applying their developing Spanish language knowledge creatively and practically, as they make game cards for the class. This is an integral element to successful language learning, and is a really popular activity with my students. NEWLY-UPDATED RESOURCE COMING SOON IN 2024! PRIMARY SPANISH AND GREAT FOR YEAR 7 TOO! SPANISH TELLING THE TIME GAMES! A SET OF CARDS MATCHING CLOCK FACES AND TIME PHRASES O'CLOCK AND HALF PAST WITH A SET OF DIFFERENTIATED RECALL WORKSHEETS IN WORKBOOK FORMAT. My students love to play the games with the cards, and really enjoy working their way through the workbook - that's useful for directed class time, homework, free-choice activities, revision and cover lessons for example. The set is great for independent learning, and my students definitely like to work together, either in pairs of small groups. We play the games and revisit the worksheets regularly over a whole school year - that really is the best way to consolidate language. We also revisit the Notes and Next Steps pro forma regularly too - it's a great way to map progress, encourage students to reflect on their learning, and is a great habit for learners to develop as early as possible. There are two non-editable files in a zipped format - 56 matching games cards (clock face and time phrase) and a 14-page workbook. The workbook has a full time phrase reference list, Spanish-English, and six differentiated recall challenges. The resource is copyright, all rights reserved. GERMAN TELLING THE TIME I HAVE, WHO HAS? BUNDLE

GERMAN FOR CHILDREN PRIMARY GERMAN KS2 GERMAN KS3 GERMAN TELLING THE TIME I HAVE, WHO HAS? 3 SETS OF TWO GAMES @ £2.50 EACH IN THE BUNDLE : 6 GAMES AND CHALLENGES, EVERY ANALOGUE CLOCK TIME Files are non-editable in a zipped format. The product is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be amended, copied, rewritten, shared or distributed, in whole or in part, outside your own classroom. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use. Lively whole-group multi-skill language learning games, ideal for Primary German / KS2 German and KS3 KS4 German students. The repetitive nature of the questions and answers, supported by the visual prompt of the clock faces, makes it perfect for practising, reinforcing & refreshing how to tell the time in German, and for pronunciation practice too. Students often find half past in German quite challenging, similarly fünf vor halb… and fünf nach halb… to denote***25 minutes past and 25 minutes to***, and they definitely benefit from frequent and regular targeted practice. = Set 1: focus on o’clock, half past, quarter to & quarter past the hour = Set 2: focus on 5 & 10 past and 5 & 10 to the hour = Set 3: focus on 20 & 25 past and 20 & 25 to the hour There are 8 clock faces per page, and I cut the cards in sets of 2, so four larger cards per page. This means that students can see two clock faces and times per game card, which really helps to consolidate learning. It’s also a lot less prep than cutting out eight individual cards, though I do actually have a set like this, which we use as a larger-size dominoes game. I always laminate my language learning cards - it’s definitely worth the extra prep time and expense, as they’re more learner-friendly, and remain in excellent condition for years. The aim of the game is to arrange the clocks in the relevant order. Students will generally have several cards each, depending on the size of your class. We usually set the cards on a table, so that students can see the timeline clearly. I frequently use a timer when we play. Playing in teams, using either a single challenge, or with both challenges together, is really popular - students find the competitive element really motivating and are genuinely keen to see which team can finish first, and whether they can beat their own time record. The games also work well as pair or small-group games. Each set has two games, each with a different challenge: = Challenge 1: with all the the clock times in numerical order, Ich habe… Wer hat…? = Challenge 2: with the all the clock times in random order, which really helps recall and embedding new language, as students often learn time phrases in numerical order, Hast du…? Ja, (Nein) ich habe… Have a browse in my store for more German resources, including special offer bundles and freebies. VIELEN DANK UND VIEL SPAß BEIM SPIELEN!

ENGLISCH ALS FREMDSPRACHE ENGLISCH ALS ZWEITSPRACHE ESL EFL ENGLISH NUMBERS 0-10 for German-speaking learners of English. Word searches are a fabulous way of encouraging learners to engage with the written word in English, refreshing and reinforcing language as they complete the grids. This set features ten differentiated word searches, focusing on Numbers 0-10, with each consecutive grid increasing in challenge. There are 6 English to English grids, labelled with Big Ben, where learners are prompted with the English words, and look for them in English in the grid. For additional vocab consolidation, Grids 1-4 also feature a German word list that learners have to complete, as extra practice for saying and writing the numbers together — this works really well for embedding language. Grids 5 & 6 require learners to work out what the numbers are in English, and write them out again in English, for additional spelling practice. There are also 4 German to English grids, labelled with a***traditional German House*** , where the prompt words are given in German, and learners have to find the English equivalent in the grid. For additional consolidation and practice in writing and spelling in English, they also complete the English word list on each page. Learners can tell in which direction the words are written by looking at the arrow key on each grid. There is an answer grid for each word search, so that learners can check their answers - or use for a little extra help if they need it. The word searches are in landscape format, as this mirrors the direction of reading from left to right in both English and German, facilitating learner engagement with the activity. There is a single grid per page, as younger learners of English as a second / subsequent or foreign language are still developing literacy skills in their first language - I’ve found too that older beginner learners benefit from very clear and accessible worksheets, definitely avoiding too much text on a single page. Ideal for Primary French and KS3 French My students love to do these word searches around Christmas time - we do them several times in the run up to Christmas - they really are great for developing reading, writing and spelling in French - and engaging with French Christmas vocabulary too - my older students really enjoy them too. There are 30 French Christmas words, which helps them to develop awareness of some Francophone Christmas traditions and figures, such as Saint Nicolas and Père Fouettard. I also use this as a prompt to stimulate discussion about French Christmas practices and customs, and we talk about what students know about other Christmas traditions around the world. The nouns feature masculine and feminine, singular and plural and both definite and indefinite articles, which is a great way of working on and consolidating those grammatical concepts too. Word searches are really easily differentiated: there are 5 French to French grids, as well as an English word list that they have to complete, really putting their knowledge to the test. There are also 5 English to French grids, where the prompt words are given in English, and learners have to find the French equivalent in the grid - they also have to complete the French word list on each page for extra spelling and vocabulary practice. The challenge gets more intense through the grids - students can tell in which direction the words are written by looking at the arrow key on each grid. Search grids and answer keys are in landscape format. There’s a reference list of all the French Christmas words too - this is a really useful support resource to ensure all learners can do the searches. They’ll have to look carefully at some of the words though - for a little extra challenge, sometimes I’ve changed words slightly - such as using an elf’, where the reference list shows***the elves***’. The resource is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed outside your own classroom in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. There are five sets of 99 beginner German words and phrases, with matching English cards, 198 cards in each set, 495 words and phrases, 990 cards in total. Each set has an accompanying 18-page Reference, Recall & Write workbook. The vocabulary groups across the five sets are as follows: Begrüßungen : Zahlen 0-100 : Tage der Woche : Monate des Jahres : Jahreszeiten : Uhrzeit (o’clock & half past) : Adjektive : deutsche Verben : in der Stadt : Schulfächer : Tiere : Verbindungswörter : Fragewörter : Obst und Gemüse : Wetter : Körper : Farben : meine Familie : Alltagswörter : Deutsch im Klassenzimmer : Fragen und Antworten The card templates allow students to apply their German knowledge practically and creatively, as they put together mini-quiz cards for each other, preferably from memory. Creating new language is an essential element of successful language learning, so this is a key part of the overall activity, and it’s really popular with my students. The Reference, Recall & Write workbook has 18 pages. It includes an alphabetical German-English reference list of all 99 words & phrases. Students find this really useful as a learning support resource, and it comes in very handy for quick vocabulary quizzes too. The Recall and Write challenges help students familiarise themselves with, and really embed, the range of vocabulary in the set, and also get used to reading, writing and spelling in German. There are three written recall challenges in the workbook: = Written Recall Challenge One students write the English word or phrase from a German prompt, with all the words and phrases grouped together in the same category = Written Recall Challenge Two with this challenge, students write the words or phrases in German from an English prompt, and again, they’re all group together in the same category = Written Recall Challenge Three the final challenge ‘switches’ at each question from German to English, and lists words and phrases randomly from each category. This challenges the memory more than when the vocabulary is in the order learners first learn it in, with the additional challenge of moving between the two languages = Ideas, Notes and Next Steps encourages students to reflect on their learning = Card template for creative & practical application of language Laminate the game cards if you can - they are far more learner-friendly, and the additional prep and expense is definitely worth it, as the cards will last in excellent conditional for years. Die Farben auf Deutsch - 8 posters / flashcards These four my favourite colour posters make an ideal speaking prompt in the Primary German classroom - I encourage children to ask each other Was ist deine Lieblingsfarbe? as a lesson starter / warm-up, and to select a different colour every time they answer. As they learn more colours, their answers become more varied. I tend to introduce the plural form with the connective und (and) quite quickly, so that children can extend their answers as much as they possibly can - they have great fun seeing who knows the most colours, and can create the longest answers. The key colours are: blue, green, pink and yellow. There are two backgrounds to choose from - either the German flag, or plain without frame, to keep prep costs to a minimum. Laminate the posters if possible, or print on card stock, particularly if you’re going to use them as flashcards to introduce and practise language too: they’ll display really nicely, and remain in excellent condition for years. I like to share essential beginner German vocabulary that I can use in everyday talk with my young learners from the beginning of their German learning programme. The key focus is on the definite article, both masculine and feminine, singular and plural, though I do use the set to start to compare these with the indefinite article, which I’ve found to be a really successful way of helping students embed grammatical concepts such as gender, implicitly, without the need for repeated explicit instruction. The 5 fruits in this free sampler are: lemon : oranges : pumpkin : raspberry : star fruit The flashcards / posters are 8.5 x 11 (A4) portrait size. A great way of getting your students talking without feeling ‘on the spot’, or worried about not getting their pronunciation and accent right in front of the whole class. The Q&A prompt cards offer structured talk opportunities, and focus on vocabulary, structures and general knowledge that they are likely to meet in both the beginning and more intermediate stages of their English learning. My students apply their developing English knowledge creatively and practically by crafting their own questions and answers, using the prompts as speaking frames. With focused and frequent practice, they begin to feel more confident about their language skills, using the Notes and Next Steps pages in the reference book to jot down their ideas. We also use the pages to note how they think their skills are developing, and how well they are beginning to understand fully both the range of vocabulary and grammatical concepts. The language in this set is ideal for advanced beginner English students moving into intermediate English, and feature a range of differentiated questions and answers, addressing various aspects of English, such as f***forming questions, the use of the present and present continuous tenses, word order*** and so on. With structured speaking prompts, students are able to develop confidence in their German speaking, working independently in pairs or small groups. At the same time, they are building their vocabulary and enhancing their understanding and knowledge of German grammar too. There are 50 questions with 50 suggested responses, so 100 cards in total. The questions range in complexity and content. As students become more confident and competent, they begin to rely less on the prompt cards, and answer questions in their own way - and even ask them differently too, if their talk partner is using the answer card as the main prompt. There are several games and activities that my students enjoy, and I’ve described them for you to try with yours. The questions are aimed at advanced beginner German to intermediate German learners, though my advanced German students enjoy ‘going back to the start’ too, particularly near exam time.
